Statement as of 03:16 AM MDT on Oktober 13, 2008 ... Freeze warning remains in effect until 9 am MDT this morning... A freeze warning remains in effect until 9 am MDT this morning. A dry... cold airmass combined with clear skies and light winds will result in very cold temperatures across the valleys of eastern Utah and western Colorado this morning. Temperatures will remain well below freezing through 7 am MDT... before slowly moderating back above freezing after 9 am MDT. Expect low temperatures to vary from 18 to 28 degrees. A freeze warning means sub-freezing temperatures are imminent or highly likely. These conditions will kill crops and other sensitive vegetation.

Statement as of 3:30 am MDT on October 13, 2008 ... Record low temperature set at Grand Junction... At 3:28 this morning, the low temperature in Grand Junction, as measured at the Grand Junction regional Airport, dipped to 24 degrees. This sets a new record low for October 13, breaking the previous record of 28, last set in 1997.
