Dynamic Weather Model Data Available on Weather Underground's WunderMapTM
SAN FRANCISCO, June 25, 2008 . Weather Underground today announced the availability of a new online weather modeling tool on its web site www.wunderground.com, including a full range of NCEP weather models. In addition to standard pressure level maps, Skew-T atmospheric profiles and cross section profiles can be generated for any location on the globe.
Overlaid as an option on WunderMapTM (Weather Underground's new interactive weather map), users can scroll across the world and zoom in and out to any desired level, whilst viewing a full range of model runs. All model runs are produced dynamically in real time as the data is supplied from the NCEP, providing users with the most rapidly updated model data available. As well as displaying the current model run, users can analyze trends by viewing the past three runs.
By selecting the profiling option, users can click on any point of the model maps to display Skew-T's showing atmosphere profiles; alternatively, one can click on any two points to view a cross section of the atmosphere between those points.
