Mild weather will persist for China on Sunday, while wet weather continues in eastern Asia. A low pressure system continues to move eastward, just south of Japan. However, flow around this system will push some moisture onshore, triggering scattered rain and snow showers over parts of Japan. At the same time, a trough of low pressure dips in from the Sea of Okhotsk, kicking up rain and high elevation snow showers over northern Japan. Tokyo will remain dry with a few patchy clouds and highs in the lower 40s(F)/ near 4(C).

To the west, high pressure continues building over China, the Yellow and East China Seas, and into the Korean Peninsula. This will create more cool and dry conditions, due to strong flow from the north. Seoul will see a few lingering clouds with highs in the upper 20s(F)/ -2(C) and windchills near 14(F)/ -10(C). Beijing will be mostly sunny with highs near 30(F)/ -1(C), while windchill values near 3(F)/ -16(C). Shanghai will see highs returning to 50(F)/ 10(C), while Hong Kong remains in the mid-60s(F)/ upper teens(C), both under partly cloudy skies.

To the south, Tropical Cyclone Iggy continues spinning northwest of Western Australia. This system persists on its southeastward track towards the mainland as a category 1 storm. On Sunday, winds will range between 74 and 95 mph (64 to 82 knots). This system will bring heavy rains and strong thunderstorms as it approaches Western Australia. Meanwhile in the east, a low pressure system continues moving southward through eastern Australia, producing scattered showers and thunderstorms across New South Whales and Queensland. Sydney will be mostly cloudy with a chance of rain showers and highs near 80(F)/ 27(C).
